Privacy Policy

LiuApp is designed as a private digital space for parents and children.

We value privacy and data protection. LiuApp does not use personal data for advertising, analytics, or tracking purposes.

1. Account & Sign-in

You sign in to LiuApp with your Google account or Apple ID.

We use the email from that account only to identify you inside the app, link recordings to you, and let other LiuApp users send you audio.

If you sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", Apple gives us a private relay address instead of your real one. We treat it like any other email — only as a sign-in identifier.

We never use your email for advertising, marketing, or sharing with third parties.

2. Subscriptions

LiuApp offers an optional paid subscription. All payments are handled by Apple's App Store — we never see your card number or any payment details.

To verify your subscription is active on each device, we use a service called RevenueCat (their policy). It receives only your LiuApp email and Apple's purchase confirmation — never your recordings or personal information.

3. Audio Transmission

Audio recordings created in LiuApp are not uploaded to LiuApp servers. Recordings travel between devices through Apple's own channels — iCloud sharing when shared with another parent, and a direct device-to-device connection when delivered to a paired child device that is physically nearby.

LiuApp does not access, analyze, or use audio content.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

LiuApp does not collect personal data for advertising, profiling, or tracking purposes.

We do not sell user data to third parties.

Diagnostics & Data

LiuApp includes an optional diagnostic tool that helps us find and fix problems. It is off by default. To turn it on you perform a hidden gesture and confirm your consent in the dialog that appears. Only then does the app begin saving diagnostic data locally on your device.

No data is sent anywhere until you tap “Send Logs” yourself. After sending, diagnostic data collection stops automatically.

Diagnostic data may include your email address, recording titles and identifiers, and device information. It is used solely to handle your support request.

Diagnostic data never contains your password, authentication tokens, the audio content of your recordings, or other confidential and personal information.

We do not use diagnostic data for advertising, analytics, or tracking user activity.

5. Where your recordings live

Audio you record in the app is stored:

• on your device, and
• in your personal iCloud (if iCloud is turned on for LiuApp on your device).

iCloud is Apple's storage, tied to your Apple ID.

6. Microphone Access

LiuApp requests access to the microphone solely for recording personal audio content within the app.

7. Bluetooth

LiuApp uses Bluetooth only between your own family devices — to pair them, send a recording from a parent to a nearby child device, and let a parent control playback remotely on the child's device. Bluetooth is never used to send anything to LiuApp's servers or to anyone outside your family.

8. Background activity

When the app is in the background it may briefly wake up to keep family devices connected to each other (for example, so a parent can pause playback on the child's iPad without opening the app).

9. Notifications

LiuApp sends push notifications to tell you when someone shares a recording with you or when you have been added to a family.

We never use notifications for advertising or marketing.

10. Family, invitations and child devices

A family is a private group of devices managed by one parent — the family owner. The owner decides:

• which devices belong to the family;
• which other parents can join the family.

To add another parent, the owner enters their email address. That person will automatically join the family the next time they sign in to LiuApp.

To set up a child's iPad or iPhone, the owner generates a short pairing code on their own device and enters it on the child's device. After pairing, the child device receives only what the parents in the family explicitly send to it. The child device does not need its own Apple ID or Google account.

Only the parents you've added to your family can play, control, or send audio to the child device.

11. Sharing recordings

You can share a recording you made in LiuApp in two ways:

• With another parent
• With a paired child device — directly from your device to the child's device. Both devices must be nearby (within the same Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth range).

In both cases, the recording never passes through LiuApp's servers.

Recordings sent to a child device never start playing on their own. The first time the child opens a newly received recording, the device asks an adult to:

• listen to a short preview of the audio;
• solve a small multiplication problem (the same kind we use to keep children out of parent-only menus).

The recording plays for the child only after the adult has completed both steps.

You decide what to record, who to send it to, and what gets played. LiuApp does not review, filter, recommend, or modify audio content in any way.

Every recording is invisibly signed when you create it, allowing the recipient's device to verify that it was created by you and has not been modified during transmission.

Recordings you create in LiuApp can be shared with another parent or sent to a child device.

Recordings you receive from another parent can only be forwarded to a child device.

12. Children's Privacy

• LiuApp does not collect personal information from children.
• Child devices do not sign in with an email-based account.
• Every tale received on a child device must be approved by an adult before it can be played.
• The adult is responsible for the content the child listens to.

13. Who else sees your data

LiuApp does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.

The only outside service that handles anything tied to your account is RevenueCat, for checking that your subscription is active (see Section 2).

14. Deleting your account & your data

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app, under Manage Account → Delete Account.

Deleting your account removes your account and the data tied to it from our servers: your email identifier, your contacts and any pending shares, and your family group with its invites and paired child devices. Paired child devices are unpaired, and their local copies of family recordings are removed.

During deletion you can also choose to remove your recordings from this device and from your iCloud storage. Since iCloud is under your Apple ID (see Section 5), you can also delete them yourself in iOS Settings at any time.

We keep account data only while your account exists.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Effective Date shown at the top always reflects the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use LiuApp after an update means you accept the revised policy.
